Nothing describes a Maine elopement better than having your first look at Cape Elizabeth next to the coast with the Portland lighthouse in the background! Katherine and Ryan’s elopement at Portland City Hall this spring may have been a small affair, but they were surrounded by their closest family and friends!
After having an intimate first look by the ocean, everyone headed to Portland City Hall so Katherine and Ryan could exchange vows and make it official! This location was so pretty for their couples portraits, before and after the ceremony. Before they headed to the second floor to the City Clerk office, Katherine and Ryan posed together on the staircase! The light here at City Hall was just amazing! After they read aloud their vows and exchanged rings, Katherine and Ryan’s parents were there to congratulate them as they were now husband and wife. The white stone of the courthouse created the perfect backdrop for portraits.
For their reception, Katherine and Ryan celebrated with everyone at the Rising Tide Brewing Company in Portland, Maine. After they toasted with champagne at the bar at The Independent Ice Co. down the road, they both had a shot of Buffalo Trace bourbon (aka the best Kentucky magic water!). We even got to take photos next to the brew kettles at the brewing company with Katherine and Ryan each holding a glass of beer. They officially made their entrance to their reception, and what better way to do it then drinking a beer made by the brewery! To document the reception, they had wind-up cameras for guests to take photos. Because as they say, “If there aren’t pics, it didn’t happen!”
