The wrought iron balconies, lush courtyard, and classic facade make it a dream location for Charleston engagement and couples photos. Inside, it’s all velvet emerald sofas, warm wood slat walls, tropical plants, and the kind of ambient lighting that makes everyone look like they’re in a film. We tucked Morgan and Blake into one of the lounge areas and let the space do its thing. Blake relaxed and contemplative in his tuxedo, Morgan perched behind him in her off-the-shoulder ruffled mini, gazing down at him through lush green fronds. The whole frame felt like a movie still.
For couples who want a mix of editorial edge and Charleston character in their session, Emeline is an incredible backdrop that most people overlook in favor of the more obvious outdoor landmarks.
Pro tip for visitors: Even if you’re not a guest, the lobby and courtyard at Emeline are worth exploring. The hotel also has a rooftop bar with views over the city that are hard to beat.

Her first dress, a halter-neck mini with a dramatic ruffled tulle hem, had an effortless, almost retro-bridal quality that looked incredible against the white Mercedes and the ivy-covered stone walls. Her second look, an off-the-shoulder mini with a cloud-like ruffled skirt, was softer and more editorial, perfect for the moody Emeline interiors and the teal-doored streets of the historic district.
