I had the pleasure of capturing Simone and Nate’s engagement session in the Charlestown neighborhood of Boston, specifically at the historical Monument Square. This location perfectly reflected their love story and Boston’s charm.
How They Met
Simone and Nate’s journey began in April 2017 at a PR agency in Boston. They started as friends, and after just two months, they began dating. Simone’s move to San Francisco didn’t stop their connection, and they continued their relationship long distance for a year until she returned to Boston. Nate proposed during a weekend trip to Stowe, Vermont, at a hotel lobby with a Christmas tree made of poinsettias. A stranger captured the entire proposal, which made the moment even more special.
A Perfect Engagement Session in Charlestown
Simone and Nate’s engagement session began at Monument Square, a historic location in Boston that commemorates the Battle of Bunker Hill in 1775. This spot holds special significance for them, as it represents the beginning of their shared history. The mix of history and beautiful architecture created a perfect backdrop for their photos.
From Monument Square, we wandered through the Charlestown neighborhood, visiting spots that have been important throughout their relationship. We made our way down Monument Avenue, enjoying the cobblestone streets and the charm of the area. The beauty of the neighborhood, with its historic landmarks and quaint charm, provided the perfect setting for their engagement session.
We ended our session near the water, where we were treated to a unique experience—a large boat firing its cannons. The combination of the historic landmarks and the beauty of the water made for unforgettable photos.
Introducing Brimley
Before wrapping up, I was thrilled to meet their French bulldog, Brimley, who joined us for a few photos. It was clear how much this couple loves their furry companion, and it was the perfect addition to their session.
Planning Your Boston Engagement Session
Simone and Nate are planning their wedding in Rhode Island next year, and it’s clear that their love for one another and their connection to special places makes their story even more meaningful. Boston is such a beautiful and rich city, offering endless opportunities for engagement photos that truly reflect a couple’s unique journey.
If you’re planning your own engagement session in Boston, I’d love to help you explore the city’s beautiful landmarks and capture your love story.
