When I tell you that Kristen and Daniel’s elopement in Maine turned out to be one of the most gorgeous ceremonies, I’m putting it lightly. Their special day was truly magical! Their original plan was to get married in the spring of 2020 in Baltimore. However, they had to reschedule it for a year later because of COVID. So when they rescheduled one more one time for the day earlier, they really lucked out! April 24th of 2021 turned out to be a seasonably warm day in Maine. The weather was simply amazing for their intimate elopement! I was surprised at how warm it truly was for April.
Acadia National Park in Maine is truly a spectacular location! From the variety of hiking trails, the ocean views and the shoreline with rock cliffs, it’s no wonder that Kristen and Daniel decided to elope here with their immediate families. They got married on a intimate private beach. Their loved ones swapped out their dress shoes for hiking boots and made their walk to the ceremony spot. It was a little tricky once they approached the beach, but once the tree line disappeared, the trek was worth it just for the view alone.
Kristen and Daniel’s intimate elopement was special for several reasons. Kristen’s father was the officiant. They had everyone’s family dogs come, including their own dog Zoey who was part of the ceremony! They had a special blessing of their wedding rings. All of their family members took part in an “Irish Ring Warming”. This is when guests hold and bless wedding rings before they are exchanged during a ceremony. Their guests used the surrounding rocks as their seats during the elopement. They read aloud written letters to each other which served as their wedding vows.
Kristen and Daniel were starting to believe their wedding day was cursed after rescheduling so many times! They had lived together for so long that they just wanted to make it official and start calling each other husband and wife. Kristen and Daniel plan on having a big reception for more of their family and friends in 2022.
For their elopement celebration afterwards, they planned a traditional “Maine” meal! They enjoyed local oysters as the appetizer, Maine lobster for the main course, and blueberry pie for dessert. It wasn’t what you would call a traditional wedding dinner, but they had fun and that’s all that matters!
Congratulations Kristen and Daniel!
